The Friends of Marcq-en-Baroeul started in 1987, to encourage links between Ealing and its twin town in France. 

Marcq is a prosperous suburb of Lille in Northern France. 

The Friends of Marcq-en-Baroeul  (usually just the more pronounceable 'Friends of Marcq')  organises Anglo-French events in the two boroughs.
